What materials do I need?

November 2, 2008 by sbjdporlo

I have an 11 yos who's gifted and has juvenile diabetes. He's very verbally advanced but struggles with reading small print, struggles with spelling, and occasionally still can't distinguish a lower case b and d. He's artistic, he's a daydreamer, and struggles with memorizing math facts and other facts. It seems the brain retraining and some memory issues need to be addressed. What materials should I buy? Thanks.

Your son is displaying all of the symptoms of being right brain dominantt. This makes reading difficult. The poor spelling and inability to memorize multiplication facts is probably due to poor visual memory skills. Of course, the reversal issue is a symptom of dyslexia. All of these issues are addressed in the Harp Learning System. The brain is taught to access the left hemisphere through weekly activities. Visual memory and reversal issues are addressed through daily exercises. All of the materials come with the program, except an eye patch. The activities are easy to do and kids love them. Consistency is the key to overcoming these problems.
