I am a 46 year breast cancer survivor and mother of 3 kids. The oldest is 13 years old who is dyslexic and also was diagnosed with Aspergers four years ago. He was home schooled for fours until this year. He received lots of private help from Sp[eech and languauge using the Linda-Mood Bell and Wilson program.He has done very well with his reading and writing since2008,continuing to work hard. My middle child is 12 years old, was speeched delayed. Received O.T. @ 6yrs old for hand writing,upper body,fine motor strenghtening. Academically she does very well.
My youngest, just turning 11, reads well. His handwriting,math and organizational skills are poor. He is left handed and currently working with O.T. with handwriting and some upper body strengthening.We were told with maturity everthing would hopefully come togher.Clearly,it is not! He is struggling but he keeps trying. He does think he is dumb because he just can't seem to get it even with all the tutoring,help at home he receives.
