Sierra

Sierra had always struggled with readin. After having an extremely difficult time in kindergarten, her parents decided to home school both Sierra and her older sister. Still, Sierra didn't learn like her sister. After a few years and facing financial hardship, Sierra's mom had to return to the work force. Sierra was enrolled in public school and started falling further and further behind her peers. When asked how she felt about reading, she woud emphatically state, "I hate it!"

At the beginning of the summer after fourth grade, Sierra started using the Universal Learning System two times a week. When she first started doing the gross motor exercises like dot dabbing, her muscles would shake. It was extremely difficult for Sierra to do any exercisee that crossed the vertical midline of her body. Still, she kept up with the exercises consistently and progress was made.

After two months of using this program along with the Universal Reading System, Sierra started reading books on her own and enjoying them for the first time in her life. She told her mother that reading is easy now. Her reading score rose two grade levels in this short period of time and continues to rise. She is excited to start th next school year with excitement and confidence.

Hi,
I had learned a little bit about brain retraining in the past and it involved muscle testing. I found this part very difficult. Do you find that it is a necessary part of brain retraining or are you finding success without using that???
Thanks :)
