Thousands of UK 7 year olds struggle with schoolwork

According to new statistics, many seven-years-old children in UK after three years of schooling can read only easiest words and do the very simplest sums. Many failed to reach level 2 in writing. Many children are falling behind the expected standard in Maths. The statistics also showed that boys lagged behind girls. This information, published by the UK Department of Education, is based on teachers’ assessments of pupil achievement at the age of seven.
