Michelle

Michelle was in the fourth grade and on the retention list at her school. She had already been through nine months of Sylvan Learning Center with no noticeable improvement. Her grades were poor and she was reading at a second grade level. Even worse, no matter what anybody did, Michelle just couldn't learn her multiplication facts.

In February Michelle started using the Universal Learning System twice a week. After using the visual memory activities as well as practicing her math facts in sand, an amazing thing happened. She was able to learn and retain her math facts. Because of this she was able to succeed at a higher level of math. Multi-step problems quit being difficult for her because she didn't have to stop to think about what each math fact was. She now had tools for math success. Even word problems, something that had made her previously break out in a sweat became easier for her to do.

Even though math was initially the focus for Michelle, her reading lexile (score) rose over 300 points by the end of the school year. But, best of all, Michelle's grades rose dramatically and she was passed on to 5th grade.

Hi,
I had learned a little bit about brain retraining in the past and it involved muscle testing. I found this part very difficult. Do you find that it is a necessary part of brain retraining or are you finding success without using that???
Thanks :)
